Contact
Rights, takedown, and privacy contact: contact@vesselspecification.com
Ordinary vessel corrections and source submissions may be sent to data@vesselspecification.com.
VesselSpecification has not designated a registered DMCA agent at this stage. Copyright and rights notices may be sent to contact@vesselspecification.com. A formal DMCA agent may be registered later if the service adds user-upload workflows or other features that require it.
Copyright notices
If material infringes your copyright, send a written notice with:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
- identification of the material and enough detail to find it;
- your contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
If a DMCA agent is registered, notices should go to that agent. Otherwise, send notices to contact@vesselspecification.com.
Counter-notices
If material you submitted was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice.
A counter-notice should include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal;
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address, and telephone number;
- the jurisdiction and service-of-process statement required by applicable DMCA rules, if the DMCA applies.
If the DMCA applies, we may follow the applicable DMCA counter-notice process. Otherwise, we will review counter-notices and supporting material under the law and rights position that appears applicable.
Database rights, source materials, and photos
For database, confidential-source, commercial-reference, owner-document, class/register, or photo concerns, identify:
- the material at issue;
- the page URL;
- the right or interest you claim;
- the reason you believe the material should be removed, changed, or attributed differently;
- your contact information;
- any supporting documentation.
We may remove, disable, modify, annotate, or retain material depending on the request, sources, law, and rights position.
Corrections and safety concerns
If vessel information is inaccurate, outdated, or could create operational risk, send:
- the vessel name and IMO number, if available;
- the page URL;
- the field or statement at issue;
- the corrected value or concern;
- supporting source material.
Corrections improve the public reference record. They are not a substitute for owner, class, flag, broker, survey, or onboard verification.
Repeat infringers and abusive submissions
VesselSpecification has no public accounts at launch. We may reject, remove, block, or stop responding to repeated, fraudulent, abusive, unsupported, or infringing submissions.
We may reject or stop responding to fraudulent, abusive, repetitive, unsupported, or disruptive submissions.
Misrepresentations
False rights notices or counter-notices may create legal liability. Please make sure your notice is accurate and authorized.
