Terms
Terms of use
Last updated: 25 July 2026
These Terms apply to vesselspecification.com, an experimental public offshore vessel reference operated by the VesselSpecification project ("vesselspecification.com," "we," "us," or "our").
VesselSpecification is an experimental public vessel-reference project. A formal operating entity is intended to be added before paid services, API access, bulk data products, user accounts, or broader commercial launch.
What vesselspecification.com provides
vesselspecification.com publishes experimental offshore vessel reference data, including specifications, ownership and builder fields, source labels, documents, photos, and register links.
It is informational only. It is not an official register, class record, broker circular, owner statement, safety system, navigation service, insurance tool, contracting system, or compliance service.
No operational reliance
Do not rely on vesselspecification.com for navigation, operation, safety, class, flag, insurance, chartering, contracting, compliance, financial, or other operational decisions.
Verify with owners, managers, builders, class, flag, brokers, current documents, survey records, or other primary sources.
Data accuracy
Vessel data can be incomplete, outdated, inconsistent, estimated, mistranscribed, unit-converted, simplified, or contradicted by other sources.
We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, currency, availability, or suitability for any purpose.
Sources and third-party materials
We may link to, summarize, or structure public sources, owner-published materials, class/register pages, cleared references, and other third-party materials.
Source labels show provenance. They do not mean endorsement, approval, operational certification, or guarantee.
Third-party websites, documents, images, and services are controlled by their own operators. We are not responsible for their content, availability, terms, or privacy practices.
Photos
Vessel photos may be provided by or loaded from third-party services such as MarineTraffic. Availability, ownership, licensing, accuracy, and display are controlled by the relevant third party or rightsholder.
Loading a third-party photo may cause your browser to contact that third-party service directly. Photo display does not mean VesselSpecification owns, licenses, endorses, or guarantees the photo or related metadata.
Corrections
You may send correction requests to data@vesselspecification.com.
We may request support, update records, decline changes, or keep existing data where sources conflict. No correction is guaranteed or time-bound.
Legal, privacy, copyright, database-rights, and takedown notices should be sent to contact@vesselspecification.com.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use vesselspecification.com for unlawful, misleading, harmful, or safety-critical purposes;
- present vesselspecification.com data as official, complete, real-time, or independently certified by vesselspecification.com;
- interfere with the security or availability of the site;

- remove attribution, source labels, or legal notices;
- submit false, infringing, confidential, malicious, or unauthorized material;

Intellectual property
The website, design, code, organization, and original text are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
We do not claim ownership of third-party materials, vessel facts, owner documents, class/register materials, commercial-reference content, photos, or other third-party rights.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any information, documents, images, links, or source materials complies with applicable law and third-party terms.
No warranties
vesselspecification.com is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all express or implied warranties, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, fitness, non-infringement, and merchantability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, vesselspecification.com and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, business, operational, safety, or reliance losses arising from site use.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed by applicable law.
Changes
We may update the site and these Terms. Updates apply when posted unless a later effective date is stated.

Governing law and venue will be finalized when the formal operating entity is established.
Until then, use of the site is provided on an interim public-beta basis, and disputes or legal notices should be sent to contact@vesselspecification.com.
